Bayard Sharp Hall (BSH)
on the corner of Elkton Road & West Delaware Avenue, Newark

Acquired by the University in 1997, this building dating from 1843 was extensively renovated and restored by the University, largely with funds provided by Mr. Bayard Sharp. It is now home to the Edward and Naomi Jefferson Pipe Organ, and the interior of the building is known as the Jefferson Music Gallery in recognition of their generosity. The building also houses an outstanding seven-foot Steinway grand piano given to the University in 1943. UD received an award from the New Castle County Historic Preservation Review Board for the preservation and adaptive re-use of this building.
