George G. Evans House
on the corner of West Main Street & South College Avenue, Newark
Constructed in 1863

Built by George G. Evans in 1863, this house was once an important social center of the Newark community. The building, acquired by the University in 1949, is an excellent example of Victorian architecture. Renovated in 1994, it is now used by the Office of University Development. Listed on the National Register of Historic Sites.
