John McKinly Laboratory (MKL)
on East Delaware Avenue, between South College Avenue & Academy Street, Newark
Constructed in 1978

McKinly Laboratory is named for Dr. John McKinly, a Wilmington physician and president (governor) of Delaware during the American Revolution. Dr. McKinly was a member of the Academy of Newark Board of Trustees before 1783 and president of the Board from 1794 until his death in 1796. The building houses laboratories for the Department of Biological Sciences, as well as the Department of Physical Therapy.
